Foo Fighters: Here Comes The Best

Foo FightersBest Of albums should only be released at the very end of a band or artists career – In my opinion.

The Foo Fighters have yelled from the roof tops that they are going to release their Best Of, entitled Greatest Hits, on November 2nd this year.

It won’t just be a hash mash-up of previous tracks, though, as 2 new songs will make their debut on the record.

Wheels, has already been heard by the masses (Obama’s barbeque at the White House), and Word Forward – which I’ve yet to have grace the strings in my ears – are the proposed new tracks.

The remaining songs on the album will include:

  • The Pretender
  • Learn To Fly
  • My Hero
  • Everlong
  • Times Like These
  • All My Life
  • Best Of You

Is it just me or are Best Of/Greatest Hits albums becoming redundant? Digital files are so easy to rehash into the best of compilation anyway – so all you need to do is get the tracklist and you are sorted (considering that you have all previous albums to choose the tracks from).

Bands got away with this sort of thing decades ago because people couldn’t be bothered to stop and start a cassette tape every 3 and a half minutes to line up the next track. Its just so much easier these days.

Maybe this is realised by the inclusion of 2 new songs – but it is still hard to justify the purchase.

Are you lining up to get this?
