Michael Jackson to be Sued Once Again

It wouldn’t be a Michael Jackson affair if there wasn’t a courtroom involved, and it appears that his long concert series at London’s O2 is no different.

A music promoter is planning on suing to block Jackson from performing in London at all, with claims that a contract signed by Jackson restricts him from performing in concert until July 2010.

The New Jersey-based promotion company AllGood Entertainment Inc. said on Monday that the company signed the agreement in November with Frank DeLeo, Jackson’s manager.

The contract in question commits Jackson to perform in July 2010 with his siblings that were involved in the Jackson Five as well as little sis Janet Jackson.

The company claims – via managing partner Patrick Allocco – that one of the stipulations of the contract is that Jackson cannot give a concert until the Jackson Five reunion show planned for July 3, 2010 in Irving, Texas.

A cease and desist letter was sent to Jackson back in March, but Jackson probably just plans on settling the case, as he and his camp have shown no signs of stopping the 50 sold-out shows in London.

AllGood is now looking to sue Jackson in federal court, as Jackson’s people are showing no signs of cooperation.

The agreement with the company is for one concert only, for which Jackson could make up to $30 million.

The concert would also be made available as a pay-per-view show online, according to Allocco.

I’m guessing Jackson plans on making a lot more in London.

Go for the gold, Jacko – then you can buy a home with twenty-six bathrooms instead of only thirteen.
