Guitar Hero…on Reality TV?

It’s the reality show you’ve been waiting for – the Guitar Hero reality show. Um.

Well, the show could become a reality TV show, as well as/or a concert tour – depending on how much money the people behind the scenes could make on either project.

Activision Blizzard, the publisher of the game, is looking for new ways to make some cash, and the company thinks that television and film is the way to go.

Besides the Guitar Hero series, talks are also underway to turn World of Warcraft and Call of Duty into movies, according to a Billboard source.

The film rights to World of Warcraft were actually already bought by Legendary Pictures, though nothing yet has become of the project.

Though Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick had no comment about the status of Warcraft or Duty films, but of the Guitar Hero series he did say, “It might make for a good TV show or a good concert tour.”

Umm… like what? Twenty contestants gather on MTV to battle it out on the ultimate Guitar Hero stage?

People could probably orchestrate such a reality series in their own living rooms.
