Courts Ban Paparazzi From Amy Winehouse’s Home

Amy Winehouse has successfully taken the paparazzi to court…and won!

Yesterday (1st May) Amy won a ‘high court anti-harassment injunction‘ against media and photographers who practically live outside the artists house in the London suburbs and record every single detail of her somewhat turmoiled lifestyle.

The injunction means that paparazzi agency Big Pictures are banned from following Winehouse and seeking to take photographs of the star. Any photographer not following the order is liable to be prosecuted.

The ruling comes under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and bans any photographer from photographing Amy by any means or approach her within 100 metres.

Amy secured the order after her move earlier this year (in the hope of a more ‘normal‘ lifestyle) from her Central London home to a much quieter neighbourhood, not far from where Amy grew up as a child.

A source reported that the move comes about for Amy’s safety and well-being:

Every time she got in her car she was chased or was jostled, and it has become unsafe not just for her, but the people around her,” the source said. “We don’t have the problem with the press doing their job but it has been mayhem a couple of times and Amy had to do something.”

Amy’s court order will protect her form the paps while she is in England and Wales but unfortunately not whilst in the sunny Caribbean.

We recently reported in our article ‘Amy Winehouse’s Dad Flies To Her Rescue’, how Amy has been spending a lot of time in St Lucia recording and writing new material. Amy has commented previously how she intends to stay there for the foreseeable future.

I do believe that having pictures taken and having your lifestyle documented comes with the whole ‘celebrity‘ territory, but i do have to agree a line must be drawn somewhere when enough is enough.

I just wonder how many other celebrities will now see this as an open opportunity to try and gain a little more privacy into their lives.
