Sugababes Sign Record Contract With Jay-Z
Sugababes are being taken under the wing of none other than rapper Jay-Z.
The trio, Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range, and Amelle Berrabah, have reportedly just signed a contract with Jay-Z’s US record label Roc-A-Fella.
The move follows the lack of success from the girls with their last album ‘Catfights And Spotlights‘.
The singles released from the album, ‘Girls‘ and ‘No Can Do‘ failed to ignite the same interest from fans as singles from previous Sugababes albums.
Although they will still be working with their current record label, Island Records, signing a contract with US label Roc-A-Fella allows then to work with a different variety of producers and the big man Jay-Z himself.
The girls flew out to Los Angles this week to begin working on their seventh studio album, under the watchful eye of producers responsible for the sounds of both Rihanna and Beyoncé.
Determined to get it right this time and not disappoint hopeful fans, Keisha explained that the process will not be a rushed one:
“We want to… take about a year to write it. But it depends – if everything goes well and we get a massive single, then obviously we’ll come back straight away.”
Just don’t take too long ladies, in fast paced world of music, a year is a very long time to step out of the lime light.
