Jane’s Addiction Can’t Get Along

Jane’s Addiction, which was about to go on its first tour with its original unit in almost 18 years, is having a bit of trouble with interior drama.

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor was brought in to try to calm the situation, but to no avail.

Although singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, and drummer Steven Perkins have toured together over the years, the reunion with bassist Eric Avery seems to have thrown the entire band for a loop.

Avery has declined to play with the band since they broke up the first time in 1991.

From the sidelines at Coachella, Ferrell said, “If my band didn’t have issues, if they didn’t throw tantrums, I would think I was with a bunch of suckers. As long as they can handle it, I can handle it. After all we’re just delivering music that people love, so how bad can it be? It could be worse. We could be drafted.”

Well, as long as you’re still going to tour together – bitch and moan amongst yourself all you want.

On Rezor, who is/was producing the band’s new music, Farrell said, “He did his best to be both producer and psychologist. He was very respectful, trying to get out of the way and not overproduce.”

Farrell continued, “I wish honestly he would’ve produced a little more, but he was a little gun shy after seeing us explode on each other in the studio. He became the referee for a day and after that day I think he was done.”
