Too Many Miley Songs in the Hot 100
Miley Cyrus may be on a futile quest to end Radiohead’s career, but she’s also been busy launching herself into the Billboard charts (as well as ringing it in at the box office). The movie version of Hannah Montana has had six songs leap into the Hot 100 this week, including the aptly titled “The Climb,” which moved up two slots to the #8 position.
Also in the mix is a song that I will never listen to, based on the ridiculous title, “Hoedown Throwdown,” which shot up to #28 with a 119% increase in download sales. Taylor Swift’s track from the soundtrack, “Crazier” is up to #38, with an 87% increase in download sales.
“Let’s Get Crazy,” a song by Cyrus’ alter ego Hannah Montana is in at #75, and the duet between Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus, “Butterfly Fly Away” entered the chart at #72. Lastly, the Hannah Montana track “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home” is in at #88.
Before anyone goes all Miley Cyrus fanatic on me and accuses me of insulting the young miss without ever having listened to her – wrong! I’ve heard enough of Miley Cyrus to last me a lifetime, in fact I can hear her voice in my memory right now, scraping like nails on the chalkboard of my brain.
