Kelly Jones Advises Razorlight on Their Comeback
Kelly Jones, frontman of Welsh band Stereophonics, has advised the lead singer of troubled Razorlight, Johnny Borrell, to “get a new haircut” in order to ensure the band makes an impact with their third album.
Speaking to MTV at last weeks Teenage Cancer Trust event, Jones said; “If there’s any band members left by that point… he reminds me of where we were with our third album… in fucking trouble!“, in reference to Stereophonics‘ Just Enough Education To Perform (JEEP) record, which was a resounding failure by their own lofty standards.
2008 was a bad year for Razorlight as sales of their album Slipway Fires never got off the ground which resulted in drummer Andy Burrows leaving the band.
Jones went on to make reference to Madonna and how he thinks she has had such a long career; “Just change your haircut, they’ll forget all about you then. It’s a new you – Madonna’s done it all her life.”
Come to think of it, Jones, his brother and the rest of the band had a full closet makeover after JEEP. Think another one is due soon.
