Lynyrd Skynyrd Back on Tour with Kid Rock
Lynyrd Skynyrd are slated to release a new album later this year, and the southern rockers are headed out on the road again this summer with Kid Rock for the second go-around of the “Rock and Rebels” tour.
The album will be the band’s first since the January death of founding member Billy Powell. Powell and founding guitarist Gary Rossington had been the only surviving members of the 1977 plane crash that killed guitarist Steve Gaines, backup vocalist Cassie Gaines, and singer Ronnie Van Zant.
Since the crash, guitarist Allen Collins and bassist Leon Wilkeson also passed away, and the drummer who survived the plane crash, Artimus Pyle, no longer tours with the band (which had originally gotten back together in 1987).
All that death has the makings of a touching film. So much tragedy and pain but the music kept on going – that’s cool.
You should totally check the band out on one of the dates listed below:

First i would like to send out my sympathy to all the family members, friends, and all of us fans of all the ones we have lost from ’77 and up to January.
I try not to look at it as a lose but a gain of the best damn southern rock band in my eyes. Yes they lost but the learned. They learned what music is Im 34yrs of age but the very first time i heard LYNYRD SKYNRD i was hooked. SKYNYRD not only give us ass kickin music . The ass kickin music comes from inside of them. You dont just hear the music you can feel thier music. I dont believe its just words to them (Hell i know it isent i feel it everytime i hear them) For the ones that say SKYNRD just isnt SKYNYRD anymore. needs to sit back in listen. One word that comes to mind when i hear that is ”BULLSHIT”. SKYNYRD lost alot but they have not lost the heart and soul that you in their music and you wanna know why because they learned, they knew, and they played with the best!
LOVE YOU GUYS KEEP KICKIN ASS!!!Hope to see ya on tour BE SAFE~N~ TAKE CARE PEACE~N~SMILEZZ, Angie
