Some Charges Against Little Wayne Dropped
An Atlanta judge says that Lil Wayne is home free concerning those felony drug charges against the rapper.
Lil Wayne, who goes by Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. in courtrooms, was arrested and charged in August 2006 at a hotel there. Unmarked bottles that contained hydrocodone and generic Xanax were discovered by Atlanta police, as well as a small stash of marijuana.
The charges were dismissed Tuesday when Fulton County Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson granted the defense’s request to suppress them on the basis of an illegal search. According to Wayne’s lawyer, William Head, Wayne wasn’t staying in the room in question, where the arrest was made.
However, the rapper will still face other drug charges in Arizona, which were made when he was arrested in January 2008. There’s also that pesky weapons charge that was made in New York during 2007.
