NIN to Tour with Jane’s Addiction

In these tough economic times, more and more bands we haven’t heard from in eons are taking to the road to collect whatever change they can find. Later this year Nine Inch Nails will be doing just that – and they will be joined by Jane’s Addiction (according to a post Trent Reznor made on the band’s website).

Reznor also went on to hint that these would be the last shows from the band in a while (in his words: “It’s time to make NIN disappear for a while”), and that he wants them to be “much more raw, spontaneous and less scripted” (in comparison with last year’s Lights in the Sky tour).

The whole thing has a relatively tentative feel, and of course there have been no dates yet set, though the NIN frontman claimed on the website that the tour would be spanning the globe.

Rezor wants to tour with Jane’s Addiction because their shows together for Lollapalooza were “epic” and “propelled NIN to the ‘next level’”, even if they made Jane’s Addiction break up for a while.

I leave you with some final words of wisdom from Rezor’s posting:

Corporate rock STILL sucks. A friend tells me they saw the original Jane’s lineup play a tiny show in LA that was unbelievable. I break out my Jane’s records and am amazed by how vital they sound. These guys were the real deal and in this current climate mostly dominated by poseurs and pussies it was refreshing to hear something that sounded dangerous, volatile, beautiful and SINCERE.
