Bon Jovi Signs on for Jazz Festival

Bon Jovi has joined the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival lineup for the festival’s 40th anniversary, contributing happiness to the show’s producers. Festival producer Quint Davis in particular told the AP that he was “thrilled,” and called the band “one of the greatest American rock bands of all time.” And he’s not even from New Jersey.

They can be seen at the fest on May 2.

After Hurricane Katrina wielded its damage on New Orleans, Bon Jovi donated $1 million in order to rebuild the homes of low-income residents. (These homes are the ones built in Houma, on the Gulf Coast about 50 miles outside of the city of New Orleans. Habitat for Humanity and Oprah’s Angel Network were the driving forces behind the actual construction.)

The festival this year will be held during two separate weekends: April 24-26, and April 30-May 3 at Fair Grounds Race Course. Get your tickets at NOJazzFest.com.

Among the artists also scheduled to appear are: Bonnie Raitt, Earth, Wind & Fire, Joe Cocker, Ben Harper, Erykah Badu, Etta James, Pete Seeger, Spoon, Common, Emmylou Harris, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Buddy Guy, Julian Marley, Los Lobos, Drive-By Truckers with Booker T. Jones and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.
