Rapper 50 Cent Dismisses Jay-Z Popularity
Rapper 50 Cent has had a pop at Jay-Z, claiming that he was a “nobody” before he married Beyonce Knowles!
Rapper Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, wed the Destiny’s Child beauty in May 2008.
Fiddy allegedly made the remarks to MTV, and said that up until his wedding Jay-z was very much unknown and he also suggested that Jay-Z’s wealth is very much over-estimated.
Jealous anyone??
The Queens rapper is reported to have said:
“I’m a big fan of Jay-Z, but outside of the States and hip-hop circles, no one really knew who he was until he married. I don’t believe he’s worth that much! It’s all been exaggerated. I’m comfortable. I don’t want for anything so I’m not in a race.”
50 Cent is adamant that this is not jealously talking.
50 Cent recently topped Forbes magazine’s poll as the biggest earning hip-hop star of 2008, making $150 million or 81 million sterling in the last year, compared to Jay-Z, who came
second with $82 million equivalent to 44 million sterling.
