Pink Floyd: Rick Wright Passess
The influencial Rick Wright passed away yesterday at the age of 65 following his battle with cancer.
The Pink Floyd psychedelic Keyboardist, along with the bands David Gilmour, was one of the most creative artists in the industry at the time – and probably still stands as one of the greatest.
Pink Floyd’s comeback was shortlived in 2005 as they got together for the Live 8 gig. Sans Waters wasn’t Ricks biggest fan, having effectively fired him from the band in the early 80′s.
David Gilmour has been quoted as saying that the just wasn’t interested in reforming the group.
Perhaps the band will all come together to mourn a fallen hero, just as they did with original band member Syd Barrett when he passed away last year (2007).
RIP Rick. You will be missed.
