Motley Crue: Free Online Gig!
Motley Crue are to be broadcast all around the world in a “Live Global Concert”. Set to take place on Friday 1st August 2008 at 9:30pm PST, from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, this revolutionary event is to be viewed by millions all around the world, available online and completely FREE of charge.
Fans must register at DeepRockDrive.com, tickets are free but limited, so fans are being advised to book early if you want to reserve your online seat.
Motley Crewe’s latest album entitled ‘Saints Of Los Angeles’ has been released and will appear on UK shelves on 1st Spetember. I assume this little stunt will raise the anticipantion of the album 10 fold.
This event comes about with DeepRockDrive.com’s official launch of a series on collaborations to bring concerts to the masses online via the World Wide Web.
It allows fans to watch concerts from the comfort of their own home. A great idea for those unable to attend in person – or is it?
The atmosphere when attending a gig in person – with crowds screaming, singing along in unison, lighters in the air, makes sure that live performances will not run out of attendees – while concerts stay in the physical delivery medium. When they hit virtual reality though – their number could be up. That won’t be for a while though.
It is definitely an awesome business decision that will add a multitude in higher revenues to each and every gig – even though this one is free. They could charge in the future and have advertisers get in on the action.
