Gene Simmons Tells It Like It Is

Gene Simmons from KissKiss are currently in Australia awaiting their gig at the Grand Prix. I wish I was there. Northern Ireland is terribly cold today – wind…. rain….. yuck.

To cheer me up I have just read that the crazy Gene Simmons has stated on the record that Rock’n Roll is in “a pathetic state”.

The man couldn’t be any more right.

The UK has no bands to mention and the US is down and out as well. What is happening to the mainstay of music? Where are all the Rock’n Roll bands? The ones that come on stage drunk and still play the best show you’ve ever been to by kicking out bags of distortion, thick drums and classic tunes. The bands that throw TVs out of hotel windows and live their lives in debauchery and sin the likes of which you could only dream about.

Unfortunately it seems bands of the ilk Kiss are in have all but dried up.

Most band members are nice these days. Watching their P’s and Q’s. They make being “famous” look boring.

“Bands think they can get up on stage and strum their guitars and then download it – it’s useless and pathetic. We’re sick and tired of seeing bands getting up on stage and not giving value for your buck” Simmons said in the interview.

What do you think? Know any proper Rock’n Roll bands coming up?

I completely agree that the bands just aren’t the same. I was in my teens in the 70’s. I saw most of the big bands in concert, so I know exactly what you mean.

Example: Jimmy Page was so drunk that he fell down on stage and still never missed a lick Awesome time!!

Hey Curt!

Yeah – there is just no true arrogant, disturbed brilliance left. The bands are to serious.

I’d love to hear some of the stories about those gigs you have been to. Unfortunately I haven’t been as lucky to have seen Led Zeppelin or any of the real true greats! :-(

Maybe we could start a revolution to restore Rock’n Roll to what it was before?!

Check this out :

Eddie Van Halen could be in rehab right now. That man will be eternally immortalised when he passes.

Thats the essence we need to restore.
