The Libertines To Write New Material?
Now that Carl Barat, Pete Doherty and John Hassall have reunited The Libertines for gigs at this years Leeds and Reading Festivals, news is rife that new material will soon be written to move the band forward once again.
Before a short acoustic gig at the Boogaloo Bar in London both Carl and Pete indicated that writing new songs was something that was in the pipeline.
Queue he said, she said…Hassall started with:
“We’ll do these gigs and hopefully have a great time and then maybe that will be the start of something”
Carl continued:
“Well, we’re going to write” followed up by some mixed signals, “We might do man, we’ll see what crops up“.
Doherty continued the uncertainty with:
“It’s going to be hard enough to work out some of the riffs from the old days, to be honest!”, before finishing off with “Yeah, who knows really? Isn’t that what people want?”.
So that is clear as mud really.
