The Cribs have revealed that their fourth studio album is to be called ‘Ignore the Ignorant

The first single from the album will be ‘Cheat on Me‘ and is due for release on August 31st, with the complete album following shortly on September 7th.

Fans will be looking forward to hearing the new material as it is the first with Jonny Marr on guitars.

Discussing the new album with NME, Cribs frontman Ryan Jarman explained that the album title was a well thought out process and is in fact more of a statement:

“There were a bunch of titles we could have gone with including ‘Ignore The Ignorant’. Then in Yorkshire the BNP got a seat and we were like, ‘Fuck.’ It’s harsh to accept that it can happen in your town.”

Seems the rise of the BNP (British National Party) in Yorkshire really struck a chord with the group.

Tracklisting for the new album is set as follows:

‘We Were Aborted’
‘Cheat On Me’
‘We Share The Same Skies’
‘The City Of Bugs’
‘Hari Kari’
‘Last Year’s Snow’
‘Emasculate Me’
‘Ignore The Ignorant’
‘Save Your Secrets’
‘Nothing’
‘Victim Of Mass Production’
‘Stick To Yr Guns’
