Kris Allen to Perform at NBA Finals
Though there will be relatively few fourteen-year-old girls in the arena, American Idol winner Kris Allen will be playing live during the NBA Finals.
He managed to score himself a slot singing the national anthem on Sunday’s Game 2 of the National Basketball Association finals on ABC.
I guess Kris Allen is the more sports-fan friendly American Idol finalist – though it might have been easier on the ears to hear Lambert hit those high notes. Not that Allen is incapable – just more boring.
The Los Angeles Lakers smoked the Orlando Magic in the first game of the finals, and lead the sequence 1-0.
Just about every winner of American Idol has shown up at the NBA finals to belt out the National Anthem, and it seems to have become a tradition that will last at least as long as the show.
Only season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino somehow missed out on this opportunity.
