Live Nation Drops Service Fees, but only on Wednesdays
On Wednesday, June 3 Live Nation is going to attempt to sell as many tickets as possible by eliminating the ridiculous service fees that are usually attached to each ticket.
This includes more than five million tickets for sale from the company.
They’re calling it the ‘biggest ticket promotion ever‘, I’m calling it ‘what they should do all the time if they weren’t so greedy.’
The 24 hour sale is part of “No Service Fee Wednesdays,” a promotion to begin at 12:01 am, and available only through their website at LiveNation.com.
Fees are usually about one third of what the ticket is worth, a Live Nation source tells Billboard.
This promotion is to go on for the rest of the summer, which means that the website will most likely only see ticket sales on Wednesdays, unless for some reason they aren’t going to market “the biggest ticket promotion ever” very well.
However, this offer cannot be combined with other special pricing offers, and is of course subject to availability – whatever they decide that means.
Tickets for sale from Live Nation and included in this promotion involve those for Blink-182, Coldplay, Nickelback, No Doubt, Depeche Mode, Brad Paisley, Def Leppard/Poison/Cheap Trick, Kid Rock/ Lynyrd Skynyrd, Phish, Nine Inch Nails/ Jane’s Addiction, the Dead, and Rascal Flatts.
