Placebo To Play UK and Ireland Tour Dates
Placebo have announced a series of UK and Ireland tour dates for this winter.
The news comes ahead of Placebo‘s gigs at summer festivals. The band are set to play the Rockness Festival, Scotland, on June 14th followed by the Reading/Leeds Festivals in August.
Placebo members Brian molko, Stefan Olsdal and Steve Forrest, are sure to be promoting their sixth album ‘Battle for the Sun’, which is scheduled to be released in June 2009. The bands first studio album since the release of ‘Meds’ in 2006.
Placebo’s musical style has varied greatly over the years and with ‘Battle for the Sun’ being mixed by My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails supremo Alan Moulder, this new material is set to be something different again.
Current tour dates and venues have been announced as follows:
Tuesday 8th December in Birmingham LG Arena
Wednesday 9th December in London The O2 Arena
Friday 11th December in Bridlington Spa
Saturday 12th December in Manchester Central
Monday 14th December in Glasgow SECC
Tuesday 15th December in Dublin Olympia Theatre
Tickets go on sale Friday 29th May (tomorrow) at 9am.
