Courtney Love Sued Over Unpaid AmEx Bill
Yes, the economy has gotten so rough that even former rock stars can’t pay their American Express cards off.
The credit card firm sued Courtney Love in Los Angeles on Wednesday, claiming that the former Hole frontwoman owed over $350,000 to the company, due to charges she had made and applied interest on her AmEx Gold card.
The lawsuit was filed in US District Court, and is asking for $352,059.67 for the unpaid debt, attorney’s fees, and late charges.
According to the suit, Love’s card user privileges were stripped from her when she “failed and refused” to give them any of her hard earned money.
This is not the first time in a courtroom for Courtney Love – not by any means.
As recently as February Kurt Cobain’s widow was sued for libel by a fashion designer who felt that comments Love had made about her on Twitter were damaging.
And then there was that time last year when Love was sued for $1 million by an advisory firm that wanted its share of the proceeds from Love’s partial sale of the Nirvana publishing catalog (a deal that was worth an estimated $19.5 million).
Seems like she could have given some money to AmEx if she had felt like it.
