Queen Consider Hiring Adam Lambert

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is being considered for the role of frontman for rock legends Queen.

The singer performed with the band during the finale of the television talent contest, which has the remaining members of the band considering a possible union.

Queen guitarist Brian May told Rolling Stone: “Amongst all the furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk.”

May continued in an email exchange, “But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with Lambert at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”

The band has not had a permanent frontman since the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991.

Queen was one of the world’s biggest rock bands during the seventies and eighties.

No one doubts that Adam Lambert will be moving on to, well, something in the music industry – a fact that is especially not doubted by American Idol’s judging panel, who seemingly could never get enough of his performances.

May doesn’t seem to think there’s anything wrong with a career launched straight out of American Idol, writing to Rolling Stone, “If you have enough talent and enough will to succeed, you will get there by whatever route presents itself.”

Oh Please, Adam Lambert is gay and proud to be, great. He also has some talent but is trying too hard to be outrageous. Freddie Mercury was himself and we LOVED him just the way he was.
