Amy Winehouse Isn’t Always a Train Wreck
E! News was wondering why Amy Winehouse is continually booked for shows when it seems she continues to fail to deliver.
Actually, a reader wrote in complaining that “her recent concert at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival was embarrassing and painful to watch. But she hasn’t really put on a real, good show for a long time and clearly has some problems.”
The gossip conglomerate did a little bit of poking around and discovered that – gasp! – Amy Winehouse could actually put on an excellent performance when she felt like applying herself, thus the reason that she continues to be booked is that venues continue to just book the singer and pray she doesn’t show up abnormally wide-eyed and tottering in her heels.
A source told the outlet: “When her shows are good, which they rarely are, but they exist! – I know, I saw her at the Troubadour a couple years ago – they are amazing.”
So it seems that Amy Winehouse is a naturally gifted musician hindered by her own addictions.
Wait…didn’t we already know that?
The mysterious Amy-loving source continues: “She has a rip-roaring voice and great stage presence, a great backing band, and the music sounds amazing live. Say what you will: she is talented. Like, crazy talented. And ultimately people want to believe in her.”
Actually, it seems like most people I talk to want to shake their heads in disbelief and tout some new artist as the “next Amy Winehouse who will never have drug problems.” (Note: most people do not include me.)
