MTV Movie Awards to Feature Kings of Leon
It’s just been announced that Kings of Leon will be performing at the MTV Movie Awards – a lineup of which rapper Eminem is already a part of.
The movie awards will be given out May 31 in Los Angeles, according to a statement made by the network on Wednesday.
The Gibson Amphitheatre near Hollywood has been selected as the venue to host the program.
The rock band, who have their roots in a southern sound, began a tour of North America just last month.
They will play “Use Somebody,” their most commercial-sounding single, from the band’s latest album, ‘Only by the Night’.
‘Only by the Night’ has been the Kings of Leon’s most successful record thus far in their careers.
Their third album has sold 673,000 copies in the US since being released last fall, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The album’s first single, “Sex on Fire,” had an eight week stay at the top of Billboard’s airplay-based Modern Rock chart.
