Green Day is celebrating the release of their new album, 21st Century Breakdown, the best way they know how: with a few intimate club shows in New York, New York.

On May 19 the band will be taking the stage at Webster Hall in Manhattan as part of a concert series for MySpace Music called The List.

For the event, 300 tickets will be given away. In order to get a ticket, MySpace members must respond to a series of messages posted on The List’s MySpace profile.

The remaining seats at the venue can be bought starting yesterday. And of course, video footage from the Webster Hall performance will be posted to The List profile at a later date.

And as previously mentioned, Green Day will also be heating up the modest sized (for them, anyway) Bowery Ballroom on Monday, May 18.

It seems the band is still trying to keep the show under wraps, as their management team has yet to confirm it.

However, MTV Germany is currently running a contest for fans to win tickets to the show.

Also, the date on Bowery Ballroom’s calendar remains suspiciously empty.

The much-promoted album will be out May 15.
