Coldplay have announced that they are giving away their next album for FREE.

They said, “Playing live is what we love. This album is a thank you to our fans – the people who give us a reason to do it and make it happen.”

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said it was a way of thanking the fans for staying faithful, buying tickets and attending gigs during the recent credit crunch:

It’s a way of saying thank you. It’s a tough economy and people are paying a lot of money for tickets.”

The album in question is called ‘LeftRightLeftRightLeft‘ and is a CD of live performances from the band.

Fans attending gigs from the bands ‘Viva La Vida‘ tour will receive their complementary copy of the album, but it won’t be handed out at festival performances.

Songs featured on the ‘LeftRightLeftRightLeft‘ album include ‘Glass of Water‘ and ‘Postcards From Far Away‘.

However, if your not one of the fans lucky enough to be attending a Coldplay performance this time around you will get chance to download the album from Coldplay’s official website from 15th May 2009.

The album was recorded over the past year in various cities around the world on the Viva La Vida tour. Its full track-listing includes the following:

1. Glass of Water
2. 42
3. Clocks
4. Strawberry Swing
5. The Hardest Part/Postcards From Far Away
6. Viva La Vida
7. Death Will Never Conquer
8. Fix You
