It’s the return of Sean Paul: the dancehall artist announced on Friday that he’s going to be coming out with an album, ‘Imperial Blaze’ – his first in three years.

It’s currently scheduled to be released on August 18 via VP/ Atlantic Records.

For a bit of self-promotion and of course to celebrate the future album release, the Grammy winner posted a new song on his official website (allseanpaul.com), “So Fine”, produced by Stephen “DiGenius” McGregor.

The single will be released for radio airplay on May 1.

According to Billboard.com, Sean Paul is the most successful Jamaican artist in the US.

His three singles, “Temperature,” “Get Busy,” and “Gimme the Light” all went to Number 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 sales chart.

His previous release, “The Trinity”, was the home of four Top Ten hits and to date has sold 1,312,000 copies in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

I myself am excited to have some new workout music on my iPod – hopefully he can top “Get Busy” for keeping me entertained on the treadmill.

The first single from his album sounds pretty good – at least, the thirty second clip I listened to was heartening.
