Nate Dogg: Not a Stalker
It turns out that Nate Dogg is not a stalker after all – or at least, he won’t be punished by the court system for being one. The criminal charges against the singer have been dropped. He previously stood accused of stalking and threatening his estranged wife.
The charges were dropped by the California prosecutors on Wednesday, and Nathaniel Dwayne Hale (which is the 38-year-old R&B/ hip-hop artist’s given name) is free because the alleged victim never contacted the prosecution. Lucky bastard!
Nate Dogg of course pleaded not guilty back in July to two counts of making criminal threats and one count of stalking. There was also a misdemeanor count in which Mr. Hale was charged with driving on a suspended license (which went back to a prior DUI conviction).
Oh, hip-hop artists. What is so difficult about following the law? Don’t buy automatic weapons. Don’t bring crack to the airport. Don’t stalk people. There seem to be plenty of people who easily follow these guidelines.
These allegations stem from two emails that Nate Dogg sent to his wife, and the stalking came into play when he chased her car on the freeway (presumably from his own car).
