Kiss plans on routing their upcoming tour of the US and Canada based entirely on demand from fans via Eventful, the event-based social networking site. The painted gentlemen are the first major musical act to do so; beginning in September fans will have the opportunity to “demandKiss play in their city.

The band will take their show on the road to the most voted on markets in North America. There is also a fairness clause for smaller cities: population size will be weighed against total votes.

This new form of promotion was unveiled yesterday by all four members of the band, who made the announcement via streaming video.

Mark your calendars if you want to get Kiss to come to your town, which you can do by heading over to eventful.com/Kiss.

Not only will fans be able to vote for their own cities, but they will have perpetual access to current polls across the nation. Polls will also be updated on Kiss’ MySpace, Facebook, Ticketmaster, and VH1Classic.com pages (among others).

During the voting process, fans will also have the opportunity to buy presale tickets. Fans are have the option of uploading their own fan videos in promotion of the Kiss voting extravaganza (which has to be the world’s cheapest way to promote yourself – get your fans to do it).
