Kelly Clarkson Holds Down the Album Charts
All the production work and promotional leaks that went into and came out of Kelly Clarkson’s latest album seem to be paying off, at least financially; Clarkson’s album All I Ever Wanted has spent its second week at the top of the album charts and sold another 90,000 copies last week.
I have to admit I may have stumbled across the album due to a certain iTunes leak, and that I can’t help listening to it myself – it’s like that whole My December album never even happened.
Also at the peak of the sales charts are U2 and the Twilight soundtrack, which jumped way up to the third slot this week after the album began including a disc with five bonus tracks and a DVD featuring interviews and music videos (which seems to reveal that those bonus DVDs actually do assist album sales, something I’ve been pondering over for a while now).
U2’s latest, No Line on the Horizon, is up one position on the charts; the album sold 76,000 copies last week.
Kelly Clarkson’s undeniable vocal talents and the polished production work of pop songwriters on All I Ever Wanted are forcing me to recommend her album, against whatever reservations and objections to talent show television programming I may harbor.
