Rihanna-Brown Reenactment Released
Everyone from Oprah to Jessica Simpson has given a public service message regarding the Rihanna incident and dating violence in general. Now the teen organization Do Something (DoSomething.org) is putting their two cents in by releasing a new video that actually recreates the incident between the star-crossed singers Rihanna and Chris Brown.
The information for the script was taken directly from the police affidavit detailing the incident that accuses Brown of punching, biting, and choking Rihanna until she almost blacked out. Throughout the video, a narrator deadpans the details as they happen.
Does this seem like overdramatic overkill to anyone else?
“We didn’t want to be overdramatic,” the chief executive of DoSomething.org reported. “Our goal was not to shoot a Lifetime TV movie…. There was no need to sensationalize things. It was bad enough.”
Riiiiiight.
Get your fill of the video on YouTube, because I’m sure you haven’t heard enough about this incident already.
According to the video, the numbers on teenage dating violence is that one in three teens is abused in a relationship.
For the organization, the goal behind the video is to make people think and change their behavior, which of course is sure to work. The video features white actors which was somehow supposed to shift the focus away from Rihanna and Chris Brown. No, seriously.
