Amy Winehouse says she’s Innocent
Amy Winehouse showed up in a coutroom Tueday looking like, well, a mess in a little flowered dress. She pleaded innocent to the charge of assaulting a fan last year.
Somehow she managed to make this courtroom drama about what she was wearing, and she looked pretty horrifying in some of the pictures photographers snapped of her outside of the courthouse. The beehive is something we all expected from Winehouse, even in such a formal setting, but the low cut, short skirted mini was a little much even for the ex-crack addict.
Winehouse has been in rehab and is looking better than she was before, and she appeared to be in a good mood as she walked inside the courthouse to enter a plea. Amy confirmed that she was indeed Amy Jade Civil (though her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has filed for divorce), and informed the court she was pleading not guilty to the charge of common assault.
Mark Haslam, the singer’s lawyer, apologized for Winehouse’s late-ish arrival in court, explaining that she had left her north London home two hours earlier but still didn’t make it on time.
The Judge, Timothy Workman, ordered her to come back for a hearing July 23, and the singer was released on unconditional bail.
