People is reporting that the earlier story of a possible love duet being recorded by Rihanna and Chris Brown was inaccurate. People’s “source” claims, “Contrary to published reports, Chris Brown and Rihanna did not record a duet after the incident.

Or perhaps the public backlash from the story was enough to make the couple can the project?

The correct story, according to this new source, is that Brown and producer Polow da Don wrote a song together and during late summer/early fall of last year,

Chris and Rihanna’s vocals were recorded as the reference vocals for this demo only. The song was never conceived or intended to be a duet between them, and was later recorded by other artists.

The song in question, “Bad Girl,” was recorded by the Pussycat Dolls and put on the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack.

Rihanna sung the reference vocals for the track (to show other artists how the song was meant to sound), and that version of the song ended up online early this year.

According to this source, nothing has been recorded by the pair (together) since February.
