4-Night Promotion on Leno from Prince

Prince is going to be on Leno during the last week that The Tonight Show will still be With Jay Leno, as well as on three consecutive nights this month.

The musician is slated to perform on three consecutive nights, March 25-27, to promote his two upcoming albums. He will also be onstage on May 28, the second-to-last night that Jay Leno will be hosting the show.

This news comes after U2 has revealed that they will be appearing on the Late Show With David Letterman for a five-night gig.

It is unknown as to whether Prince will actually sit down for an interview (doubt it!).

As previously reported, Prince’s new albums (Lotus Flower and MPLSound) are to be released March 29.

They are part of an exclusive release from Target (which, I guess, is better than being an exclusive Wal-Mart release). The package is a deal – for $11.98 – and includes an album by Prince’s latest protégé, Bria Velente.

Here’s an excerpt of an email sent to Prince fans detailing more promotional events and looking as if the artist hired a thirteen-year-old girl as a rep:

Purple Electricity. Calling all Purpleheadz: ready 2 get plugged in? From the 24th on, there will b a slew of NPG-related events happening around electric LAlaland. we don’t want 2 give away all the details yet, but b prepared 2 get yo groove on, numerous ways 4 numerous days. We know $ is tite but the adventures will b worth ur while! Stay 2ned 2 this outtaspacestation.

I don’t think David Bowie at the height of his abilities could have written anything so trippy.
