Oprah schools Rihanna on Principals of Love
Oprah has been saying it for years: “If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.”
Oprah is saying it again, this time as a shout out to –guess who! – singer Rihanna, who as we all know had her head smashed into a passenger side window by her loving boyfriend, R&B singer Chris Brown.
The talk show host appeared on her own show Friday (just a day after Chris Brown’s court appearance) to tell Rihanna that “love doesn’t hurt.”
She said during the live broadcast of her show, “You need somebody to tell you the truth in this moment. And the truth is guys, both Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I were your friend, I would call you up and I would say ‘Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself, heal yourself first’“.
“And also, ‘Love doesn’t hurt’. I’ve been saying this to women for years – love doesn’t hurt. And if a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again. I don’t care what his plea is, he will hit you again.’”
As reported, Brown appeared in court Thursday just after being charged with two felonies.
Oprah wants to do a show next week, “dedicated to all the Rihanna’s of the world, because you know that within our country, the statistic is one out of four women…it is the same statistic for young girls.”
That’s right, Rihanna, listen to wise old Oprah. Find a guy who won’t bite you or throttle you till you almost black out.
