If Called, Rihanna Will Testify
According to Rihanna’s attorney, she would testify against her abusive boyfriend if she is called as a witness in his assault case. (As if she had much of a choice.)
The attorney representing the singer, Donald Etra, informed the world that Rihanna would be required by law to testify if she is subpoenaed by the prosecution. Which means that those tabloid headlines you were reading in line at the supermarket – the ones that said something like, “Chris gets back with Rihanna so she won’t testify against him!” – are idiotic, and untrue. If you didn’t know already.
Well, I guess you always have a choice. But who wants to sit in jail for refusing to testify against someone who choked you until you almost blacked out?
Etra appeared in court at the same time Brown did, to request that Brown not be banned from contacting Rihanna. Brown won’t appear at an arraignment until April 6.
Etra said of his client, who is known in courtrooms as Robyn Rihanna Fenty, wants this all to go away as quickly as possible. He elaborated, “She wants to get along with her life and career.”
