Lil’ Wayne’s Gun Will be Evidence
I’m going to take you back, way back – to 2007, when Lil’ Wayne was arrested, after giving a concert at Beacon Theatre, for being caught red handed with a gun. During that incident, the police officer boarded Wayne’s bus because she said she smelled marijuana, and there she saw the rapper attempting to hide the weapon.
Since then, Wayne has been free after posting a $70,000 bail.
The “best rapper alive” has his defense lawyer, Stacey Richman, claiming that the police officer boarded the bus after falsely claiming that she smelled drugs. Good luck getting anyone to believe that, buddy.
The New York City Judge, Justice Charles Solomon, set an April trial date, and also allowed that the handgun in question can be used as evidence against Wayne in the trial.
If he is convicted, he could serve up to 15 years in prison, according to Reuters.
Jury selection will begin after Lil’ Wayne wraps up some concerts (this way he won’t be sued by anymore promoters). The rapper is on tour until April 12, and the trial is slated to begin on April 20.
I just want to know what the hell he thinks he needs a gun for?
