Blink 182 Reunites for Album, Tour

Blink 182 will be getting back together for a reunion tour and a new album. They announced this at the Grammys, ever the stealthy businessmen (remember when Wal-Mart was selling pencils and notebooks with their faces on them!). Why can’t they just do a I’m-really-trying-to-find-love-now reality show like the rest of the musical has-beens?

It’s been more than four years since the band last performed together, and drummer Travis Barker showed up at the Grammys in Los Angeles with his arm still in a sling due to last year’s plane crash. It was Barker who told the audience, “We used to play music together, and we decided we’re going to play music together again.”

Uh, yay?

The band also released a statement that said, “To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy.

Perhaps the band will tour with Green Day during the summer months, and perhaps not since details have yet to be revealed.

After the band’s split band members continued making music, through Barker and bassist Mark Hoppus’ band +44, and guitarist Tom DeLonge’s band Angles & Airwaves.
