Cops Force Tommy Lee Helicopter Down

Tommy Lee and an unnamed pilot friend were out and about in a helicopter yesterday morning, enjoying the glorious SoCal skies when they were pulled over by cops in a helicopter.

The two geniuses had been doing helicopter donuts and “flying erratically” right in front of a police chopper – the pilot claimed he hadn’t been drinking. According to LAPD officer Karen Smith, the unnamed pilot

was flying rather erratically, and he did get close to one of our helicopters. The tower over the area was concerned about his flying, too.

Consequently the Mötley Crüe drummer and his buddy were forced to land at the nearest airport. The mystery pilot buddy was carted off by the LAPD, but wasn’t immediately charged – pending the results of a breathalyzer. According to TMZ the pilot had, um, a drink after setting down at the airport, somewhere between landing and being arrested.

Cops reported that since Lee had nothing to do with the situation” he was released scot-free.
