Tommy Lee: New Methods of Mayhem Album in the Works
Tommy Lee may be smacking Pamela Anderson around on the road this summer, when he begins touring on Motley Crue’s Saints of Los Angeles tour January 31 in Indio, California. He also announced that he’s begun working on his second Methods of Mayhem album (to follow up the album they apparently released in 1999). Involved in the project are DJ Aero, guitarist Kai Marcus, and co-producer (alongside Lee) Scott Humphrey .
To Lee’s ears the new music is “as out of control [as on the last album]… pretty new and crazy-sounding. There’s some ridiculously banging hard rock tunes and electro dance-rock.” Of course there is. He also mentioned that there is no hip-hop going on the record. There will be guest appearances, but not so many as appeared non Methods of Mayhem’s self-titled debut.
Lee claimed that even though his other band hasn’t discussed making more music, there’s likely to be another album after last year’s Grammy-nominated Saints of Los Angeles (the first Motley Crue album in some eight years). He said,
“we haven’t really talked about making a new record, but maybe we’ll write one on the road this summer and have it ready for next winter. I don’t think [another long gap] is going to happen again. That would be terrible if it did.”
