Marc Anthony, J-lo Sing at One of Many Inaugural Balls
There’s been recent speculation on the state of J-lo and Marc Anthony’s marriage, but the couple showed no signs of hating each other at the Western Ball in celebration of Obama’s inauguration. Husband and Wife sang together for the last number of Marc Anthony’s performance.
Anthony requested that she join him on stage, and she magically appeared in her lilting white single strap Marchesa gown, and the two shared a kiss before singing what the AP referred to as “an upbeat love ballad in Spanish” – twenty bucks says it was “No Me Ames.”
Earlier on in the evening Anthony claimed to the audience he’d written “You Sang to Me” about his wife. He said: “I wrote this next song about Jennifer. I must have been psychic.” The song was written ten years ago. “She didn’t get the point,” he added, “but eventually it worked.”
Either they’re following the tradition of Tom and Katie, in which they give each other cold stares across covers of US Weekly, and then attempt to prove their devotion to each other with cheesy (or slightly deranged, in the case of TomKat) displays of public devotion, or J-lo just wasn’t wearing her ring one night because it was too heavy and she wasn’t feeling it.
