A Musical Tribute To Obama

Anything is possible in America” is what almost-President Obama declared yesterday after watching the musical pre-inauguration show, “We Are One: Opening Inaugural Celebration,” that featured performances by Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, and U2. Let’s just hope he knows what he’s talking about…

Obama and his family appeared to be having a jolly old time at the concert, where they sat at the forefront of a crowd tens of thousands strong at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. They watched as Springsteen went onstage and sang, “The Rising,” and Mary J. Blige peformed “Lean on Me.” Obama proved he knew the words to “This Land Is Your Land” by mouthing the words along with Pete Seeger, and the crowd joined in with Beyoncé’s rendition of “America the Beautiful.”

When Joe Biden took the stage yesterday he pointed out the surrounding architecture “representing the majesty of a great nation – all built stone by stone by American men and women.”

Obama and Biden may as well enjoy themselves before they get jiggy with two wars and an economic crisis.
Also taking the stage last night were actors Tom Hanks, Jamie Foxx (whose Obama impression was pretty dead-on), and Steve Carell.
