Pussycat Doll songwriter and New Yorker fashionista Lady GaGa has the #1 single in the land for the second week in a row with “Just Dance” (featuring Colby O’Donis). This week the song has sold 201,000 downloads, and 2.14 million downloads since its release, according to Nielson SoundScan.

Beyoncé is just a step behind Lady GaGa with “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” on Billboard’s Hot 100 (and is #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart for the ninth week). This latest single of Beyoncé’s is also currently atop Billboard’s Hot 100 Airplay chart, though it’s a tight race between her song and T.I.’s “Live Your Life.”

Heartless,” Kanye West’s single, is the fastest climbing track on the charts, now in the third position. Taylor Swift and her song “Love Story” fell from #4 to #5. “Hot and Cold” by Katy Perry is #6, “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, #7. Kevin Rudolph’s “Let It Rock” (featuring Lil Wayne) and Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” keep swapping #8 and 9 positions.

If for some reason you still don’t know the why’s and what’s of Lady Gaga, here they are: Lady GaGa, named for the Queen track “Radio Gaga,” released her single way back last spring. After some studying at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she began working at age 20 for Interscope as a songwriter. She released her debut album The Fame last October, and is up for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.
