Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, U2, Shakira, Usher, Josh Groban, Stevie Wonder, Garth Brooks and Sheryl Crow have all managed to get in on the Obama action going down at Lincoln Memorial Center on January 18. The show, featuring nineteen heavy hitting musical forces, is free to the public and will be broadcast live on HBO.

The show, featuring musical acts from diverse genres, is aptly titled We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial. The theme of the show is not celebration, but one of unity. Executive producer George Stevens Jr. wanted to bring diversity to the lineup. The show is to open the Inaugural celebration, and the four days of scheduled events, such as an Inauguration Day youth concert at the Verizon Center, and some ten official Inaugural Balls.

The Beastie Boys and Sheryl Crow are to headline another show, the “Hey, America Feels Kinda Cool Again” concert, on January 19 at the 9:30 club. It is unknown who thought Sheryl Crow should be in a show featuring the word “cool” in the title. WAR and Marc Anthony are to perform at the Latino Inaugural Gala at Union Station on January 18. You can catch Jay-Z at the Warner Theatre on January 19, and Bela Fleck and Wynton Marsalis at CNN’s Inaugural affair on January 19 at Kennedy Center.
