New Fox Sitcom to Feature Hilary Duff
Disney channel product/cookie cutter pop singer Hilary Duff will play a young lawyer in an upcoming Fox sitcom that is being touted as Doogie Howser, M.D. meets a courtroom. I’m guessing young Duff is to be Doogie.
Fox is moving quickly to immortalize the story of Kathleen Holtz in sitcom form; Holtz passed the California bar exam at the ripe age of eighteen in 2007. Fox has ordered the script for the sitcom, which features the extraordinarily original title Barely Legal. If you didn’t guess it, Kathleen Holtz is currently the state’s youngest lawyer.
Duff, now 21 years old, is working on this sitcom as part of an agreement with Fox and Universal Media Studios. You may know Duff from the Disney Channel conglomerate Lizzie McGuire, or from her two commercially successful albums. Also featured in the sitcom will be actor Rob Morrow of Numb3rs, who for this project will be executive producer, and writer Elisa Bell of Little Black Book.
