Leona Lewis Autobiography in the Works

The 2006 winner of the British talent show the X-Factor has just signed a deal with publishing house Hodder & Stoughton to write her autobiography. The planned book is to feature more than 100 new photographs, and will be released next October, predictably just before Lewis’ new album is scheduled for market release.

Lewis’ debut release, Spirit, debuted on the Billboard charts last year in the top position, has topped charts worldwide, and sold an estimated five million copies total. The first British woman to enter the Billboard charts at #1 described the past two years as “an unbelievable experience.”

Hodder editor Fenella Bates reported:

This will be the first time Leona tells her story of how the X-Factor lauched her from waitressing in Pizza Hut in Hackney to stardom on both sides of the Atlantic. It is a real-life fairytale and every girl’s dream.”

Also predictably, the publishers would not disclose the details of the deal. Photographs are to be taken by Dean Freeman, who has previously photographed David Beckham for the publishing house.

Really, what else should a 23-year-old get started on besides an autobiography?

The star is currently said to be trying to reinvent herself in order to win over the critics who have cast her as boring because she is not wild enough. Leona is, apparently,  unhappy with the feedback she is getting and  is attempting to lose the “good girl” image.

I don’t know if she needs to though – I quite like you the way you are Leona!
