Fans Ask Axl Why He is Such a Recluse
Axl Rose got involved in a little Q&A on fan message boards on the sites MyGRN.com and Here Today…Gone to Hell. No, he did not say what the hell took so long making Chinese Democracy. But he did respond to a fan who demanded to know why Axl wasn’t talking to the media with: “What I have to say a lot of people have no desire to hear.” The gracious star told another fan who called his behavior fan-unfriendly, “Your misconceptions and fantasies along with your misguided sense of entitlement don’t dictate my actions.”
Axl discussed the pitfalls of being sued by former band mates (“Fortunately that was resolved but it got ugly and took a while going into arbitration”) and the ups of working on one album for about fifteen years (apparently there is a wealth of material Axl can use to make another album!).
The long long long long awaited album was released this past November 23 and debuted on Billboard at #3 – its first week it sold 261,000 copies. This week it sold 57,000, and sits like a bit like an over-hyped, over-worked lump at #18.
You may have thought the Chinese Democracy press hoopla was over, but now that Axl has revealed he always thought of the album “as a double” you might be waiting another fifteen years for the second disc.
I HAVE LISTENED TO GUNS&roses for a better part of 28 or so years. I have always loved their music, and i have really missed hearing them. So once they decided to release chinese democracy i was very excited. Thanx to the fact that axle finally pulled his (pardon the french!) shit together, mow i can actually hear some more music by them. I don’t doubt that it will be great. Thanx again!!!
I AGREE WITH YOU 100%.JUST FINISHED READING CONTROVERCY CONCERNING AXL. I KNOW OF NO OTHER PERFORMER THAT HAS TO ANSWER TO AND DEFEND HIS SELF..LIKE AXL DOES. THEY DO WHAT THEY DO WHEN THEY WANT TO DO IT! I DON’T THINK IT IS FAIR !!! IF HE WANTED TO WAIT 50 YRS (SO GLAD HE DIDN’T) THAT IS HIS BUSINESS. I KNEW CHINESE DEMOCRACY WAS GOING TO BE GREAT…CAUSE AXL WOULDN’T HAVE HAD IT ANY OTHER WAY. SLASH, DUFF, AND WHO EVER ELSE HAS COME AND GONE…IS GONE. WHO EVER HAS A PROBLEM WITH THAT…THEN “OH WELL”. I LOVE WHAT AND WHO GN’R IS TODAY AND WAITING PATIENTLY FOR THE NEXT INSTALLMENT.
