Yet Another Album from Morrissey
The ever-prolific and aging but unstoppable Morrissey introduced his new album, Years of Refusal, in London’s Pigalle Club yesterday. The U.S. version of the album isn’t yet finalized, and won’t be announced until next week – but the U.K. album is going to be released February 16.
On the album are two recognizable songs (previously released as singles from this year’s Greatest Hits), That’s How People Grow Up and All You Need Is Me. Billboard reports that Moz is a bit preoccupied by legal problems on the new album – referring to his lawyers as “full of fake humility”.
Years of Refusal was one of the last projects of producer Jerry Finn before he passed away last summer.
The singer gave no comment on rumors of a possible Smiths reunion (and his people remained mum on the subject as well). Back in ’06, Morrissey claimed he’d been offered $5 million to play Coachella with his former band, and U.K. publication the Daily Mirror announced recently that both Moz and guitarist Johnny Marr are back on good terms and hinted at a possible reunion.
Old Moz is kicking off his tour early next year, and reportedly is hitting the U.S. via Orlando in March.
