McDonalds: The Beatles Official Sponsors?

McDonalds restaurant in Liverpool have hung photographs of The Beatles on their walls in order to ‘flog burgers’ according to a very disgruntled Paul McCartney.

Sir Paul is said to be furious that the fast food chain are attempting to capitalise on his old bands success. The situation is made all the more insulting for McCartney as he is a vegetarian.

Clearly McDonalds have put the pictures up to celebrate the city of Liverpools greatest exports. The flip side of that is that they are also associating The Beatles with their restaurant chain – which is wrong – unless of course they pay the remaining members of The Beatles, or for the ones no longer with us – their children, vast sums of money.

Of course Sir Paul McCartney doesn’t exactly need the money, even after his £25million divorce settlement, so such an association could not be bought. A vegetarian endorsing a Mc Chicken Sandwich or a Big Mac would be just a little contradictory.

I’d be amazed if these pictures are allowed to stay up.

What do you think? Political correctness gone mad?

Should Paul McCartney just relax?
